Classroom Creations & Accomplishments:
In this slideshow, you can see how my classroom is run on a daily basis and see some of the experiences that students and parents can expect throughout their 8th grade year of ELA with me as their instructor! This artifact demonstrates my ability to run an organized classroom and instill classroom expectations from day one of the school year.
In this syllabus, it demonstrates my ability to create clear expectations for students and parents, while also giving everyone involved a concrete look at the most important elements of the course.
This website is near and dear to my heart, as it encompasses a lot of what made up my internship year experience through Michigan State University. This artifact shows my ability to curate classroom resources and memories into a cohesive site for students to utilize Please take a look at some of my experiences teaching 2nd grade in Mt. Classroom Literacy Projects:
This website was created in my Michigan State Master's course about using technology in online learning environments. This site shows my ability to create an electronic unit plan experience for my students to participate in, primarily student-led, which aims to work on our grammar and mechanics usage in our writing.
This resource shows my efforts in collaboration and changing curriculum to address the needs of students as we went virtual with little time to prepare. In this slideshow, during pandemic learning, we read different sections of the novel "Michael Vey: Prisoner of Cell 25" aloud for students to participate in an activity that made us feel more connected not only to each other but also to our literacy learning.
This Spooky Story assignment is something I have done each year with students since I started teaching middle school. It showcases my ability to adjust curriculum in a way that teaches the learning objectives while also connecting to students' real life experiences. It is a great way to achieve a pre-write activity before moving into our writing unit, and it is done right before Halloween to get students in the spooky spirit! The products accomplished from this writing assignment are always so much fun to read, and a great way to have a writing piece to work on and revise as we learn new writing concepts and fundamentals.
The 40 Book Challenge is something I incorporated to get students excited about learning by giving reading incentives in and outside of our classroom. I wanted to showcase this student opportunity because I feel it addresses my ability to bring in additional resources and activities into my classroom to get students excited about learning and specifically READING! Even if students do not reading 40 books (because that is A LOT!), it still encourages goal setting and READING as a whole throughout the school year.

Creations & Accomplishments: This presentation about Classroom Management was a final product from one of my Michigan State courses surrounding effective classroom management strategies and what these best practices look like in the classroom environment. This artifact shows my ability to curate meaningful resources and condense them into a concrete experience to refer back to when needed, and provides a means for others to have access to these same resources that helped me.
This Literacy Inquiry Project seeks to understand how teachers can best support students in becoming lifelong readers. This inquiry project addresses my ability to focus on one of my actual students and her specific data to create and expand upon a love for reading and how to foster this in all students.
In this social justice unit that I curated in my Michigan State Master's course, my goal was to create a literacy unit surrounding the novel "Ghost Boys" by Jewell Parker Rhodes to teach important literacy fundamentals while also discussing important issues that affect our society today. This artifact aims to showcase my ability to create meaningful discussions in my classroom that also tie into learning objectives aligning with common core state standards.,
